Figured it was a defective screen and sent it back for a replacement. After some research I found this thread on Dell support website. I don’t fix motherboards on the component level. The DC jack separated from the motherboard and has to be resoldered or replaced. But if you have nothing to lose, you can try replacing the lamp.
